MEASUREMENTS AND ANALYSES OF RADIATING SYSTEMS:
The M²ARS platform, a member of the RF-Net network, is dedicated to the characterization and prototyping of radiating systems. It offers unique infrastructures for antenna system measurements, covering a wide frequency range from a few 100 MHz to 500 GHz. Its three anechoic chambers, ranging from 4 m to 6 m in height, can accommodate low- to high-gain antennas weighing up to 300 kg. The measurement techniques include near-field (planar, cylindrical, spherical) and far-field (direct illumination or compact range) methods.
M²ARS's expertise in antenna measurements also includes measurement systems and procedures, as well as original pre- and post-processing tools, enabling the study of electromagnetic radiation effects on various types of devices in both controlled and real environments.
Comprising 8 technical platforms within a building of over 1500 m², representing more than 14 M€ in equipment and infrastructure, M²ARS relies on a technical team of 12 people. In addition to the characterization of radiating systems, it also conducts mechanical prototyping activities, electronic and control system development, and the creation of data processing and analysis tools for antenna measurements.
M²ARS benefits from regular investments, particularly within the framework of CPER programs supported by the French government, the European Union (FEDER), the Brittany region, the Ille-et-Vilaine department, and Rennes Métropole.
